Naughty!

I have been such a naughty blogger!! I can't believe how long it has been since my last post. Sorry! But I'm back now and will try to be better.

Lots has been happening that has kept me busy, mainly that I started a new job. It's meant to be just 17 hours a week but so far I've been doing a fair bit of overtime as well. I've also started on a major declutter of our house, we seem to accumulate so much stuff so I've done a few trips to the charity shop/tip and I am starting to see progress but still loads to do!

So what kept me away from blogland? Apart from the new job we have been here

A few days away in London for the 3 of us to spend some time together and show H the sights of London. It was her first trip to the city and she loved the sights, sounds and smells!!

We stayed near the London Eye, right by the River Thames. We packed in so much... Sightseeing, shopping in the biggest Toyshop ever, searching for elephants and the highlight was Leona Lewis in concert at the O2 Arena which was amazing.

is what it has been this weekend!

We decided to make the best of the hot, hot, hot weather and whilst H was playing at a friend's house yesterday for a few hours we decided to go for a stroll around Wimborne, a beautiful little town a few miles away from us and treated ourselves to a pub meal!! We rarely get time, just the two of us, so this was a real treat!

Today, has been about relaxing in the garden this morning and then we were invited over to my friends house for a BBQ.



I have managed a little scrapping lately but this is the only page I've actually finished! It was a photo taken last year when we went to West Bay for the day. I really want to try and get back there again this year. Definately a beach for avoiding the crowds that we get at our local beaches at Bournemouth and Alum Chine.

Mid Week Catch Up

It's the middle of the week already and I haven't blogged yet! I have lost count of the times I've sat down with the laptop to blog and then something else crops up that gets my attention instead!

This week is "Walk to School Week"!!! We live quite a long way from H's school so we have been trying to "Park and Stride" each day instead, managing to do this every day except one so far this week. We drive just over half way then park up and walk the rest of the way to school. As we walk along hand in hand we chat about the day ahead and H happily points out all the things she can see and hear from the flowers and trees to the birds singing and fish in a garden pond! It's made me realise we should do it more often and will try and keep it up.

I have been busy crafting this week, working on some cards I have been commissioned to make for a wedding and scrapping. I'll try and take photos and post here.

On a more personal note, I have had a lot to think about this week, following an unexpected phone call but more about that another time.

Sorry for lack of photos, need to charge up camera batteries!!!!

K & Co Poppyseed Collection

My day has been good so far.... This morning, I managed to catch up with some admin and housework whilst D & H went off to the cinema, then it was off to Sainsburys for the weekly grocery shop and a quick coffee in my favourite coffee shop!

I have had a spare half hour here and there and sit down to scrap but can't seem to get going.

Do you ever have days when you can't find the right patterned paper? You push embellies around the table but nothing looks quite right? Frustrating!

Shimelle's Blog Party

This weekend Shimelle has been hosting a Scrapbooking blog party over at Shimelle.com with loads of inspiration and challenges. There's been prizes along the way too for entering the challenges.

I've not been able to play along as much as I would have liked... busy, busy weekend here...but did manage Friday evening's sketch challenge which you can find right here. We had to take inspiration from Shimelle's layout/sketch.

This is the layout I came up with

I am working on a couple of the other challenges this evening and hope to have a go at some of the others throughout the coming week, even though it will be too late to enter for the giveaways it will be greatto get more of my ever growing pile of photos scrapped!

Couple of cards....

...as promised in my last post!

I have two cards to show you....

It was my friend's daughter's 1st birthday earlier this week. I made her this card using a Kanban die cut toppers and matching card pack. Great when you need a card in a hurry!!

I have had this Clarity stamp for absolutely ages and I still love it and use it loads.

For this card I stamped it onto patterned paper, heat embossed with black embossing powder and cut out the hat and outfit. I then stamped it again onto white card and heat embossed the image. I inked the edges with distress ink and a blending tool, coloured her skin and gloves with promarkers and then pieced her outfit on top of the image. The background is the same paper as the outfit.

I can hardly believe the school holidays are almost over, the last 2 weeks have gone so quick
but we have packed a lot in. I'm planning a quiet, relaxing weekend! Hope you have a lovely weekend too.
