10 more sleeps to go...

Sorry for my dreadful lack of blogging....been busy making all my Christmas cards, just got a few more to do, then its write and post them. Why do I always seem to leave it so late?!! I cannot believe its only 10 more sleeps until Christmas Day! I hope you are all far more organised than I am and that you are almost ready for the Big Day!

If you do need a few last minute gifts for your crafty friends or find you have run out of something the shop is open up until 2pm on Monday 21st December. We are then closed for our Christmas break until Saturday 2nd January when we reopen at 10am. Also we will be closing at 1.00 pm on Friday 18th December as Hannah's school has early closing for the last day of term.

Go Jack!

Just a very quick post tonight!

Thought I would share a very simple layout with you. The photos are of my nephew Jack showing us how fast he could go on his new Go Kart. I've used the new Rough and Tough papers and stickers from Fancy Pants, Bazzill cardstock, Glitter Thickers for the title, a few buttons and a black gel pen to frame it. Very simple but sometimes less is more. All papers are in stock at the shop.

The new Creative Cardmaking magazine arrived at the shop today, I know lots of you are loving the magazine and Issue 10 is another great magazine so don't forget to pop in and get your copy soon.

Demo Day Cards!

It was good to see so many people at the demo day today!! Hope you all had a great time!

I only managed to get photos of a few of the cards Kathey had made before the daylight was so poor with the bad weather this afternoon that I had to give up. But here's a few for you.

I really love these new toppers from Hunky Dory Crafts that are now in the shop, and these snow scenes are one of my favourites. You get a whole sheet of toppers and greetings so you get lots of cards from one sheet. Kathey had lots of ideas of ways to use the beautiful new card, this one is using the pale blue and silver but would look equally stunning in any of the other colours, and it's only 60p a sheet! I adore these "Easel Cards", and they fold flat for easy postage!! Kathey had some good ideas for using glossy accents ~ the snowflake is made from acetate with glossy accents all over, drop of ink, die cut then stamp the snowflake! Gives a lovely effect which unfortunately you probably can't really see on the pic.

More toppers, this time fairies!

Stormy Weather

What an awful day, weather wise! What with the rain, wind and very chilly it has definately been the kind of day when I just want to stay in and craft. I hope everyone is okay and no damage to houses, fences or trees blown down or anything else this kind of weather seems to bring.

Lots of you have already popped into the shop this last week to take advantage of our "10 sheets of paper for a £1" offer. Today I have had another sort through of the scrapbook papers and have added a few more to the "10 for a £1" offer.

Our "Ribbon Odds" box has always been very popular. Today it has been overflowing as I have also sorted through the ribbon reels. Each length of ribbon is just 30p!!

I will also be running 2 special offers very soon...more details to follow.

Classes and More items in our clearance section

Stamping on candles is an amazing technique and is a great way to make a unique and wonderful gift for Christmas. The class on Thursday 19th November will show you how to create a candle like this one and at just £7 which includes the candle is great value! Give me a call or email if wish to book a space!Last month, Kathey's "Seasonal Calender" class was so popular and due to many requests it is being repeated on Thursday 26th November in the evening (6.30pm-8.30pm), there are still a few spaces on it. The calender features a page for each of the 4 seasons, each one beautifully decorated to reflect the month. Great for a gift or to keep for yourself!!

Today I have added quite a lot to our Clearance Section within the shop, in order to make room for some newly released Spring and 2010 ranges. Flowersoft is all reduced and the 12 X 12 paper clearance area is now at 10 sheets of paper for just £1.00, that's 10p per sheet!!! Lots of other goodies too, pop along and take a look!

Journal Your Christmas

Well, now that we are well and truely into November and the shops are full of Christmas goodies it's getting hard to ignore the fact that it's not that all that far away now.

I did it last year and although I only managed to do up to about 10 December when I had computer problems and couldn't get my photos loaded or read the daily prompts I really enjoyed what I did do. As the Big Day gets nearer, our house seems to get manic and just making 15 minutes each day to craft was wonderful. The other day I did another page for my album and have promised myself I will finish it before the end of 2009!

Ringwood Craft Show

Just thought I would share these pics from the Paper Crafts Show at Ringwood last Sunday. Maggie did a fantastic job demonstrating all day long. This photo was taken right at the end of the day, and she was still smiling! :)

I hope anyone who went along had a good day and thanks to everyone who visited the Maisie May Crafts stand.

I also just want to say Thank you to Helena, Maggie and Kathey who helped on the day-you are all stars!!

I have seen tonight on her blog that Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas is starting again soon, I did this last year and really enjoyed it, despite not finishing it due to camera problems.

Last Demo Day Cards

I have just realised I didn't show you the cards from our last in store Demo Day. So better late than never, here's a few of the cards Maggie made.
The little blue flower is a Little Claire Stamp, the penguin is Magenta and the cute little snowman is a Hero Arts Cling Stamp. Maggie also used scalloped cardstock to make the card blank, the Inverted corner Punch from Woodware (which is unfortunately out of stock at the Suppliers at the moment but due back in mid November), promarkers to colour the images and peel offs, glamour dust and ribbons to finish.
The 2nd picture shows one of my favourite cards, using the beautiful Queens Anne's Lace stamp and distress inks.

Well, after a fabulous day at the Ringwood Papercrafts Show I am exhausted and definately ready for an early night. A huge thank you to everyone who came along and popped over to our stand, it was lovely to meet so many of you!

On Line shop update!

It's taking me much longer to upload products to the on line shop than I thought, so sorry that the website is still unavailable. I think the plan is now to open the on line shop as soon as possible with a selection of products and then keep adding a few each day as it will take forever otherwise.

In the meantime why not pop along to the bricks and mortar shop, loads of new goodies arriving daily!

Scrapbook Inspirations...

...is no more!

Scrapbook Inspirations is one of my favourite paper crafting mags so I was very sad to hear yesterday that it is closing. Their last issue will be on sale on 13 November.

For the official word check out MaryAnne'sBlog. I for one will miss this magazine landing on the door mat each month.

Hope everyone remembered to put the clocks back an hour! Lovely to have an extra hour in bed! Well, we are off for a look around the new John Lewis store in Poole today! Hope you all have a lovely Sunday, whatever you have planned.

New promarker Sets

I have pre ordered the new sets of 5 Promarker pens from Letraset. They are due for release on the 26th October. There will be 4 new sets, they are: Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer and retail at £8.99 each. Each set has different colours to the existing sets, all new colours!

If you would like to reserve a set or sets (!) please give me a call at the shop on 01202 513052 or drop me an email . I will need a small deposit and I can post them out to you (for a small P & P Charge) as soon as I receive them if you are not able to get into the shop to collect.

~ Fab Demo Day! ~

A Huge Thank You to everyone who came along to our Demonstration Day today. I'm sure you'll agree, it was a great day, packed with card making ideas and techniques. Maggie demo'ed a range of techniques and products from rubber stamping, promarkers and nestabilities to alcohol inks, glitter and so much more! I didn't get chance to photograph the cards today but I'll try and take some pics on Monday for those of you who couldn't make it today.

Shop News...The first delivery of Little Claire Stamps has arrived and are already proving popular. If you can make it to the demonstration day on Saturday you will see some of them being demo'd. There are 19 different designs to choose from and I love them all!


On Line Shop...is coming soon! The website is currently unavailable for a few days whilst the on line shop is added. I now have the long task of uploading products to the shop. To start with only a small selection of items will be available but I will add more as time allows and as new stock arrives.

I'm hoping to get some crafting done tomorrow so maybe will have some cards or layouts to share soon.

~ Rain, rain go away! ~

I think it has rained non-stop for the last 3 days, I got drenched on the school run today but good news is that we have had our central heating boiler fixed today so at least we have heating now and I love being warm and toasty indoors when it's chucking it down outside!

The other day I told you about the new Dancing Girl papers from Fancy Pants that have just come in at the shop, this layout is made using them.

It's a really girly pages with lots of pink and lilac and gorgeous glitter chipboard letters!

Just a quick post for now as it's almost tea time in our house!

~ Lazy Sunday ~

Tonight's blog is mainly just chat so if you are looking for some crafty inspiration, I'm sorry!

Yesterday we had a much needed lazy, family Sunday! We have had a run of busy weekends which saw us dashing half way round the country meeting up with friends, going to weddings and Ally Pally so yesterday it was great to just relax, just the 3 of us!

We popped to a local shopping centre in the morning to get a few bits and pieces and had lunch in Marks and Spencer where Hannah's 2nd tooth fell out just as she was tucking in to her cheese toastie. She now has a lovely, cute "gappy" smile.

The afternoon was spent pottering about in the garden. We have been growing a few veggies this year and for the last few weeks we have been enjoying home grown carrots. Yesterday D and H pulled a few from the ground to have for dinner and one of them was huge! This must be the biggest carrot I have ever seen!I did manage to fit in some crafting. I took this photo mid crafting session to show how untidy I get, this was after only about 15 minutes so you can imagine what it looked like an hour later. The floor was covered in stuff too!!

Does anyone else make a mess, surrounded with stash and end up with a tiny space to work in just big enough for a 12 X 12 layout??!!

Okay, shop stuff ~ I've been busy today placing lots of orders including an initial order for Little Claire stamps. I know lots of you have been waiting for me to get these in so as soon as they arrive I will let you know via this blog and the website.

~ Ally Pally And Fancy Pants!! ~

I don't think The Big Stamp And Scrapbook Show quite knew what had hit it when our coach arrived at Ally Pally! We really did have a great, if tiring day.

At around 7.30am on Sunday 34 very excited ladies and one token gentleman boarded the coach, many had never been to AP before and didn't quite know what to expect. Excited chatter filled the coach as we made our way up to London. We arrived around 11am and 34 ladies descended from the coach and climbed the steps ready for some serious stash shopping. In between numerous stops for coffee we watched demos, browsed the stands, "oohed" and "Aahed" over the papers, rubber stamps, craft tools and everything in bewteen!! At 4.15pm the coach set off for home. Bags were emptied out to show our newly bought goodies to the rest of the coach and there was endless chat (amidst laughter!) about demos and new techniques seen. A "craft swap" was great fun, where participants put an item they had bought (worth approx £2) into a bag and then pulled something out in exchange! A truely wonderful day!! Thank you everyone who made it such fun!

Onto other stuff.......Look what has arrived in the shop today....... New papers from Fancy Pants "Little Sprout" range! Beautiful colours and everything from flowers, to stripes, to swirls....And "Rough and Tough" Perfect papers for layouts featuring boys! All are double sided and there is a co ordinating sticker sheet!
And, my favourite of all the new papers, the gorgeous "Dancing Girl" papers. Designed with little girls in mind but many are adaptable for a variety of themes. Again, double sided and a co ordinating sticker sheet.

~ Finally.... ~

...Finally I can upload pictures from my camera to the pc, so we can have photos on the blog again!! How gorgeous are these Christmas papers from My Mind's Eye? They are just flying off the shelf so grab some while you can.

I know many of you are loving the Creative Cardmaking Magazine which Maisie May Crafts are a stockist for. This is their first Special Editon magazine. Due to the huge success of the magazine since it launched earlier this year, they have decided to publish 4 special editions each year. This first one focuses on Christmas and wintery cards and is packed with gorgeous free papers and ideas and inspiration. At £4.99 it's great value!

The new issue arrived at the shop today, the normal monthly one, it's on sale date isn't until Friday 25th but we've got it in already.

Thought I'd share a few cards with you as well...the first is from the black and white class last week. I love the shape of this card, started as a square card blank and we sliced the corners off, you will notice I used my beloved inverted corner rounder from Woodware again. This next card is using the Snow Village stamp and My Minds Eye papers. The stamp should hopefully be back in stock later this week as I placed an order today for it (as so many of you have been asking for one) and some lovely new wooden stamps as well.

~ Layouts to Share ~

Happy Bank Holiday Monday!

Just a couple of scrapbook layouts to share with you today...the first I did a while ago, of my nephew using the die cut shaped cardstock from My Mind's Eye. A very simple layout but one of my favourites.

The second layout is of H and her cousin, Scarlett. They are really 2nd cousins but explaining the relationship to a 3 year old and 6 year old is far too complicated! Scralett lives in Paris and so we only get to see her a couple of times a year, usually when we meet up in Ireland. This photo was taken of them having lots of fun playing Hide And Seek with Scarlett's Grandad.
I have used Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts 2 forest paper and ledger paper, American Crafts Thickers letters, ric rac ribbon, rub on letters and buttons. The forest paper was great for cutting out the little trees to embellish the journalling spots (which I made using scallop circle nestabilities and my cuttlebug).

I haven't got much planned for this last Bank Holiday before Christmas, weather isn't looking too great this morning so maybe we will just go for a walk, relax in a coffee shop with the newspapers and a latte and then home for some crafting ~ whatever you have planned for today ~ENJOY!!

~ Christmas Is Coming! ~

Sorry I haven't blogged lately ~ with it being H's 6th birthday a couple of weeks ago, a party for 20 children to organise and relatives staying for the last 2 weeks I just haven't managed to fit everything in!

I know it is still August but with the children back to school next week and lots of lovely new Christmas stock arriving at the shop almost daily it is clear that CHRISTMAS is coming!! The 12 X 12 papers from the My Mind's Eye range called "Colourful Christmas" is perfect for both scrapbooking and cards. New stamps from Hero Arts arrived today ~ including clear sets, wooden stamps and their new "Cling"stamps and felt embellishments. Habico Christmas decoupage sheets, chipboard embellishments and stickers for Christmas are already proving popular.

For those of you thinking "But Christmas is ages away yet!" its not all Christmas as I've also restocked the K & Co albums, nestabilities and some lovely buttons and photo corners from American Crafts, Floradoodle felt flowers and papers from My Mind's Eye "Ooh la la"

Last but not least...lots of gorgeous new ribbons available by the metre!!

The new issue of Creative Cardcaking Magazine arrived today (containing free Kanban papers). I sold out of the last issue so I would advise you to pop in and get your copy soon!

Think that's about it for now~ sorry there's no photos of the new stock, my laptop is playing up and won't let me load any photos!!

~ The weekend is here Again ~

Can't believe its a week since I last blogged ~ where did that week go? Just popping by with some news....!

The Promarkers delivery arrived this week and are all out and going like hot cakes! Packs of 5 pens in six different colour sets including brights, pastel, greys, hues, skin tones and skin accents.

Some gorgeous new scrabooking embellies from ATD are also in. I can't wait to use these on a layout.

Also just heard this afternoon that the NEW My Minds Eye ranges have landed in the UK and are with the supplier and will be sent out to retailers Monday onwards. Fingers crossed my order for "Colourful Christmas" and "Ooh La la" will be with us early part of next week. Both are beatiful and I'm sure you will love them!

~ A Card And Promarkers! ~

I made this card, well 2 actually for my daughter's teacher and teaching assistant at the end of the term/school year and I just thought I would share it with you. The flower stamp is a gorgeous clear stamp from Little Claire. I stamped it twice, once on the white card and coloured it with promarkers and then cut it out with a scalloped circle nestabilitie, inked the edges and then matted onto pink bazzill card cut with scallop nestabilitie. The 2nd image was also coloured and then the petals cut out and decoupaged up with silicone glue. The background is more pink bazzill and patterned paper from K & Co. Glossy accents on the flower centre to finish off.

Due to so many of you asking if I will stock them......I have today placed an order for PROMARKERS!!! They should be here early next week. If you haven't yet tried promarkers for colouring your stamped images, I can assure you they will give your cards that Wow Factor!!

If you like the stamp I have used on the above card, then you will be pleased to know I am also hoping to stock a selection of Little Claire stamps soon. Watch this space!!

~ August Newsletter ~

The newsletter and class list for August is out now! If you normally receive it by e mail it will be winging its way into your inbox very soon, hopefully this evening. The Newsletter offically announces our change of name from Create A Card to Maisie May Crafts.

It will take us some time to update all the stationery and get the shop front signage changed (if I can ever decide on the lettering style!) so please bear with us. I'd love to hear what you think of the new name so why not leave me a comment on this blog.

~ Doodlebug has arrived ~

How gorgeous are these NEW Doodlebug papers?? I love them all ~ they are so bright and summery and look great on cards or scrapbook layouts.


Also the matching paper frills and glitter letters ( no need to worry about colour co ordinating) and the rub on letters are so useful and so easy to use. All are in the shop NOW!!

Today was Demonstration Day at the shop and what a day we had ~ very inspiring and lots of fun along the way! Thank you everyone who came along, I hope you enjoyed it as much as Maggie and I did. I know some of the Nestabilities, Hero Arts stamps and the corner punches sold out quickly so if you wanted something and didn't manage to get one, just let me know as I will get restocks of many of the items.

I'll try to take some photos of the cards Maggie made today on Monday and blog them for you.

Bring on the Bling!

After so many of you have requested it, I have just got into stock at the shop some Bazzill Bling Cardstock and I have to say it really is stunning and is great for both cards and scrapbooking. I've only got in a few colours but if you like it I will get more colours in.
Also Kraft Kuts 2 from Fancy Pants is now is ~ everything from spots, stars, stripes, trees ~ and some great designs for the layouts for boys. This is a quick card I made today using the new red Bazzill Bling. It is great for Christmas cards!

And finally, Paper Flowers from Woodware, which are proving very popular!! At last a pack of flowers of different colours and sizes!!

Demo Day!

How hot has it been these last few days??!! Hope you are managing to keep cool!

We are holding our next Free Demonstration Day on Saturday 11th July at the shop in Moordown, Bournemouth. As usual the demo will run from 10.30am- approx 2.30pm. Maggie has lots of rubber stamping and card making techinques and ideas to show you.

It has been gorgeously sunny here, definately a hint of a long hot summer on the cards!! Hope the weather forecaster I was listening to the other day is right!

To celebrate the Bank Holiday and Half Term, we have a "Double Up" week for you. Basically, instead of the usual 1 stamp on your loyalty card for each £10 you spend, this week until Friday 29th May you will be able to "double up" and get 2 stamps for each £1o you spend in the shop!!!

My Minds Eye and K & Co

I was so excited this week when 2 deliveries turned up even the courier driver gave me "that look"!!! He obviously doesn't understand!

The new My Minds Eye papers from their "Breaking Free" and "Pretty Please" ranges are totally gorgeous. I especially love the die cut papers...can't wait to use them!

K & Co's new "Wild Raspberry" and "Que Sera Sera" were in the other delivery!

And to cap it all Daisy Bucket Rub Ons and some new Nestabilities!!!

Update on the shop and next DEMO DAY!

Very quick update on the shop...all is going really well and I can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying by! Maggie's demonstration earlier this month was a great day for all those who came along, with lots of new tips and techniques. Our next demo is already organised for Saturday 30th May. Kathey will be in the shop from 10.30-2.30pm demonstrating some of our products. I'll see if I can get some "sneak peeks" to show you!

I'm expecting the new K & Co Wild Raspberry and Que Sera Sera embellishments early next week and also I've just placed an order for the new My Minds Eye "Pretty Please" and "Breaking Free" collections. These look gorgeous so can't wait for them to arrive.

So lots going on at the shop...will keep updating via the blog as and when things happen so do keep popping back.

Well, 10 minutes until Hannah's dance lesson finishes so better go and collect her and then it's scrapbook class tonight!

Update...

Just a quick update!
First week at the shop is going really well. I still can't believe I'm the owner of my very own craft shop. I've placed a few orders for some sparkly new stock which should be here within the next few days. I can't wait to see the new Fancy Pants scrapbook paper that's coming!

I'm bursting with ideas for classes, demonstrations and special events and can hardly wait to get things organised.

Must go-dinner is cooking in the oven whilst I type....!

1 more day!

I can hardly believe there is just one more day to go and then the shop is officially mine. It has all happened so quickly, and it is taking me a while to get my head around it all.

I have been busy looking at supplier's products as I am keen to get in lots of lovely new stock as soon as possible. There are just so many gorgeous crafty goodies out there....I want it all!!

I'm off to visit the new Ikea store in Southampton with hubby tomorrow, we want to get some new storage and shelving for our spare room and also a coffee table for the lounge. I'm sure we will come back laden with other stuff we never even intended to get, as is always the way with an Ikea trip! Kind of looking forward to a day of just Me and Him too...Hannah is spending a day with Grandad.
