The Weekend Flew By!

Honestly.....is it just my imagination or do weekends really go by so quickly? Even Hannah commented this morning when she was getting ready for school that she couldn't believe it was Monday and school again!!

Saturday morning I had a card making class at the shop, it was a busy one....7 ladies and ME!! We had fun making these:

The green card is straight, honest, it just looks wonky in the pic!! Very simple using paper piece technique.

I know the pink and purple is maybe a tad bright and some of the ladies did use a toned down colour scheme for their cards! Used scallop nestabilities and stamped image, coloured with promarkers with glossy accents on top to give the shoes and bag a lovely shine.

Before I sign off, thought I would share this with you.....

I know its nothing to do with craft (except that I can't wait to scrap the photo), just love the photo, taken on Sunday afternoon on Friars Cliff beach where my daughter had loads of fun in her wellies in the sea!!!

Some scrapping!!

I have finally managed to get a couple of layout finished this week and thought you might want to see. I started about 4 different pages a few weeks ago but didn't get them finished. I had chosen some photos and picked out some papers but that was about it.

This first one is a layout about the characters at the Haven Holiday Parks. The children all adore these guys and having been to Haven a few times now my daughter loves them and looks forward to seeing them.



And this one is about how H always had her shoes off, hat off and was generally a right "Wriggle Bum" when out and about in the pushchair!

I'm not very good at using more than 1 photo in my layouts so these pages were a bit of a challenge for me.

I am still trying to finalise the location and date of our first Open Day/Craft Day but will post the details here as soon as I can.

Spring Cards

Thank you to everyone who has visited the shop or phoned /e mailed over the last few days regarding the changes, your kind comments and good luck messages are much appreciated.

After so many recent text heavy posts I thought we needed some cards...

The first one is one of "Little Claires" stamps called "Emma Flower", coloured with promarkers, the flower head is stamped a second time, cut out and 3D'd on top with silicone glue (although the 3D doesn't show too well in the photo). The patterned paper is from the 6 X 6 My Minds Eye Paper Pack, punched along the bottom edge with a Martha Stewart punch, then matted onto red card.

The next 2 cards are both made using a gorgeous set of clear butterfly stamps from Hero Arts.

The blue card is a scalloped circle cut with nestabilities and edges inked. The butterflies are stamped with versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The corners of the background card has been punched with the Woodware Inverted corner punch. A Hunky Dory greeting, ribbon and gem stones to finish.

The final card uses the Hero Arts Butterfly set again, this time using the little trail stamp as well as one of the butterflys, both stamped in lime green. The trails really are great as you can place it wherever you want using a clear acrylic block to see where to place it. The base card is made from pale green card and I used My Minds Eye Patterned paper with one torn edge as the background, ribbon and gems to finish.

NEWS!!!

RELOCATION SALE starts 10am Thursday 14th January.

25% OFF EVERYTHING!!

We have decided not to renew the lease on the current shop when it expires early March. As yet we have not found suitable alternative premises so for the next few months at least we will focus on the on line shop and also plan to hold Craft Days/Evenings at local venues.

Obviously this will come as sad news to many but I would like to stress that Maisie May Crafts is not closing completely, only closing the Bricks and Mortar shop to enable the on line business to grow. We also plan to hold lots of events where you can indulge in your crafting and stock up on stash!!

Obviously, we don't want to move all the current stock out so we have 25% off all stock!!

An e mail has been sent today to everyone on the mailing list with more information.

I would like to thank all our customers for their support over the last 11 months and also to the class teachers who are all fantastic.

Open Again & SALE!!

The Shop is Open again!!!! Yay!
After a few days when everything seemed to have a way of not going right ~ heating problems at the shop, broken boiler at home so waiting in all day for engineer to call, Doctors visit to get eye drops for conjunctivitus ~ things are now getting sorted and we can get back to normal.

The shop is open again and the NEW YEAR SALE continues.!! I have reduced lots of clear & wooden stamps, papers from 20p, peel offs from 40p (or 10 for £3.00), Christmas bits and pieces and some reduced embellishments. So pop along and have a look, I will also be adding a few more bits to the sale next week.

Bad Weather ~ Shop closed today!

Unfortunately due to heating problems at the shop, meaning in the current wintery weather conditions it is absolutely freezing in there I have had to close the shop. I am hoping to get things sorted out to reopen again tomorrow (Friday) but please do check the website by clicking HERE before setting off from your home.

I hope everyone had an absolutely fantastic Christmas and I would like to wish all our customers a belated Happy New Year.
