* Scrapbooking at Last *

Helloooo, and welcome to my new followers, great to have you here!

Very quick post tonight. I just want to show you a couple of layouts I have done this week. It's been a while since I scrapped. I just haven't been able to find the time lately, but I really enjoyed making these pages, even if they were done "a bit here and a bit there" whenever I had a few minutes to myself or whilst H was engrossed in a DVD. I've just had all my stash out on the dining room table so I could come back to it whenever I had a few minutes. Sitting down and scrapping for a few hours is near on impossible these days!

These photos were taken a couple of summers ago at Longleat Safari Park. Not the best photos but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

I've been wanting to scrap these pics for a while. They show my daughter wearing her 1st pair of glasses. She only needs them for computer, TV or when she's tired. For this page I followed a sketch (very loosely) from a prompt from Shimelle's recent Love Your Pages Class. Journalling reads "You had your first glasses at 4 years old. You chose cute Little Miss Naughty ones!"

This weekend will be a busy one for me. It is H's 7th birthday on Sunday. I have to shop for party food tomorrow, do my shift at work tomorrow afternoon, wrap pressies, blow up balloons etc... Then Sunday we have family & friends coming over to celebrate.

Holidays So Far!

Good evening!

How fast are the school holidays going? Too fast for us!!

A few days after school finished, D's Mum and Dad came to stay with us. We hadn't seen them for ages, since Christmas '09 to be exact, which really is far too long but with the volcanic ash & flight prices we were reluctant to book anything to go over or them to come visit us. H really enjoyed her quality time with Granny and Grandad, making the most of the good weather with lots of days out and trips to the beach.


I love this photo of them all at Mudeford Beach taken just after they had built a boat in the sand!!

Today has been the first day H and I have spent together, just the 2 of us and we have filled our day with a visit up to our local "The Range", crafting, baking and generally chilling out!

I have done a little scrapping this afternoon, but nothing finished yet to show you.

I love the way Jenny and Rachel have blogged their crafty goals for the week so here's mine:

1 Finish some of my half done layouts
2 Make at least 3 cards for forthcoming birthdays
3 Tidy and reorganise my craft area
4 Do a photobox order
5 Blog more often!!

Just wanted to share a few more shots taken in our garden this week!

I'm learning so much from Shimelle's LYPLYP class and enjoying taking some different shots from different angles and experimenting with my little camera.

Just need to find some time to scrap the pictures!

Skip...skip...skipping!!!!

Isn't it amazing when a child suddenly gets the hang of something? Something they have Sooo wanted to be able to do!! Like, riding a bike, swimming or saying their 5 times tables, or whatever else they want to accomplish!!

H has been practising her skipping at almost every opportunity. Somehow the co ordination of turning the rope and jumping at the right time was not happening for her...until this week!! She was out in the garden playing with her rope and managed 10 skips, then it was 13!!!

Her record so far is 33!!!

She is so happy!! And I'm happy that she is happy!!

* Shopping Day *

On my day off last week I treated myself to a little shopping trip! First up was Dunhelm Mill where I got some housey bits and pieces....new ironing board cover, storage boxes, cake tin and these pretty mugs!


I did buy 4 but my coffee was in the 4th one when I was taking this picture!

Then I went for a browse in Accessorize and got a new bag, reduced to £10 from £15, so pretty pleased with my new purchases.

Yesterday's prompt for LYPLYP was about adding text to photos so I had a go with the photo of my new mugs! Really pleased with how it turned out and will definately use this technique on my scrapbook pages.

Right, must get off out to do my grocery shopping!

* Love Your Photos, Love Your Pages *

I am so enjoying Shimelle's new class!

Hi to anyone else taking the class! :)

I have to admit I haven't yet done yesterday evening's prompt which focuses on still life and finding different sources of light inside the house, mainly because I can't make up my mind what object to photograph, so I got stuck into prompt 2 which is all about photographing flowers. I must have taken about 30 photos or maybe more this morning of one of our hanging baskets of sweet peas.



As it is a little hanging basket I was able to take it off it's hook and move it from it's usual spot hanging on our rather aged, old shed to different spots in the garden. I particularly like the ones looking up towards the blue summer skies!

Shimelle suggested taking a shot towards the sunlight.

Can't wait to scrap some of these!

In other news...I'm still busy sorting through boxes, files, shelves and cupboards as I continue with project "Declutter The House", at last I can see some progress and I feel as if I'm reclaiming some space at last :)

* Summer Garden *

Following on from today's challenge at Shimelle's new class, where she asked us to grab our camera and take a spontaneous photo of something, it could be anything at all .... just so long as I took it within the next 5 minutes!

So I popped out into my garden and took this...

So then I took a few more, these are 2 of my favourites....

Our garden is fairly small, but this Summer it is looking really nice with all the flowers giving lots of colour! Sadly I can't take credit for it! I am more than happy to wander around with a watering can but that is about the limit to my gardening skills...it is thanks to my hubby that we have flowers and veggies growing!
